Mexico vs Croatia
International Friendly
Date: 28th March 2018, Wednesday
Kick-off at 3:00 UK/ 4:00 CET
Venue: AT&T Stadium Arlington (Texas, USA).
Mexico look to build on their thumping win against Iceland when they face Croatia in a friendly at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 9 pm local time on Tuesday, 27th March. For those who wish to watch in UK and Europe will be looking at 3 am and 4 am Wednesday morning respectively.
The El Tri are having a strong run in the build up to the World Cup 2018 this summer with a four match unbeaten run since the loss to Honduras in the final qualifying game. All the recent results came against strong European sides like Belgium (3-3), Poland (1-0 win), Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-0) and now Iceland (3-0). Juan Carlos Osario couldn’t have wished for better commitment from his players as his team prepare to take on the likes of Germany, Sweden and South Korea at the global event in June.
On the other hand, Croatia are coming on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Peru. And this is a disappointing result especially when the team had the services of their key players like Modric, Rakitic, Perisic and Mandzukic. They would like to end their round of friendlies with a win as things are not looking that promising in the Croatian camp. Their road to Russia was not that easy as they had to do it through the play-offs and got benefitted from a moment of madness from the Greek side.

Mexico vs Croatia: Head-to-head

The teams recently met in a friendly on May last year at Los Angeles. Both teams went in with fringe players then and Croatia edged a 2-1 win, courtesy of first half goals.
The only other two meetings between the two sides happened at the group phase of World Cups, most recently in the 2014 edition. Mexico had won both ties which eventually eliminated the Croats from the competition.

Mexico vs Croatia: Prediction

The chips are low at the Croatian camp, but we all know that they had the quality and it is a matter of time to see them bounce back to winning ways. But, Mexico are a side in confidence and are playing the best football at the moment. Therefore, it will be hard for Modric to bow off with a win. However, expect this to be a closely fought battle and the teams are most likely to share the spoils.
